The Nemtsov Summer School is a three-week expenses-covered intensive training program for young Russian-speaking journalists, bloggers, and media activists. The school is held annually from mid-July to early August in Prague at the Charles University Department of Philosophy. The training program is focused on journalism and socio-cultural research. It includes lectures by leading journalists, hands-on video and photography classes, and seminars about content distribution on the Internet. Lecture topics include economics, sociology, and contemporary art. Other activities include visits to the largest media in the Czech Republic and documentary screenings. Training culminates in a capstone media project, which participants develop at seminars with professional editors. All classes are conducted in Russian.
